The Glory of Masjid Agung Banten


Masjid Agung Banten is located in Banten Lama village, strict Kasemen, Serang, Banten Province, it is about 10 km north of Serang. Traveling from Terminal Pakupatan, Serang, leading to the location of the mosque took about half an hour. An historic site, the Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin, the son of Sunan Gunung Jati, circa 1552-1570 AD Apart from being the object of pilgrimage tours (there are the tombs of the sultanate of Banten), the Masjid Agung Banten is also an educational and historical sites. By visiting this mosque, visitors can witness the historic heritage of the Islamic empire in Punjab in the 16th century AD, and see the unique architectural style which is a blend of Hindu Javanese, Chinese, and Europeans.
